Programs housed in The Baker Downtown Center bring the university’s resources and opportunities to the community. We host credit and noncredit workshops, sponsor cultural and educational events, and rent conference and classroom space to academic partners and community organizations.

The Baker Downtown Center is at the corner of 10th and High, near the John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts and the East Broadway business district. It was built in 1952 by the Guard Publishing Co. and served as The Eugene Register-Guard’s home until 1998, when the building was leased to the University of Oregon and renamed the Baker Downtown Center.

From I-5 North or South: Take exit 194B (which puts you on I-105 westbound). Take Exit #2 and follow signs for downtown and city center. After crossing the bridge, take the 8th Avenue exit and at the second light (Pearl Street), turn left. Go two blocks to 10th Avenue and turn left. Go across High Street and past the UO Baker Downtown Center (on the corner of 10th and High). Parking is in the lot on your left.
From the east: If on I-105 westbound, take Exit #2 and follow signs for downtown and city center. If on Franklin Blvd., continue west past the main campus and take the 11th Avenue exit. Continue six blocks to Mill Street, turn right. Drive one block and veer left onto 10th Avenue. The entrance to the parking lot is on your right.
From the west: From highway 99 or 126, both highways become local street W. 7th Avenue. At Pearl Street, turn right. Go to 10th Avenue and turn left. Cross High Street and pass the UO Baker Downtown Center (on the corner of 10th and High). Parking is in the lot on your left.
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) has an arrangement to administer permits for a specific lot, east of the Baker Downtown Center. As an attendee of a program hosted by CPE, you may obtain a digital parking permit that can be used to park in the CPE lot while attending programs at the Baker Downtown Center.
For security reasons, the Event Entrance, located at 325 E. 10th Avenue, is opened only 30 minutes prior to events. At other times please use the 975 High St. office entrance. Both doors are equipped with accessible, automatic controls.
Those who have UO Faculty and Staff parking permits for Zone C are asked to park in the UO parking lot north of the CPE event parking lot.
Park in the CPE lot, located east of the Baker Downtown Center, with an entrance from E. 10th Ave. (Be careful crossing the alley between the parking lot and the building!)
If the CPE lot is full, you will need to find an alternative parking location. This map provides suggestions, but keep in mind that resources are subject to change and permits are not provided for alternative parking locations.
There are 2 hour meters on High St.
The City of Eugene Overpark garage is located on 1000 E 10th Ave. Permits are not provided.
