Generative AI in Transactional Practice

This two-week online, asynchronous microcredential is designed for legal professionals who are early in their use of generative AI in transactional practice. It introduces the practical integration of generative AI into transactional work, with a focus on professional judgment, ethical considerations, analysis, and efficiencies.

Participants will examine the capabilities of generative AI and build foundational skills around how AI can support contract drafting, review, negotiation, and contract lifecycle management. Participants will practice prompt engineering, develop playbooks and checklists, and design workflow processes. Throughout the course, participants will work with AI-generated output to evaluate drafting and negotiation strategy, identify risk, and assess opportunities to create value and efficiency in practice.

Participants will use a generative AI tool(s) of their choice for engagement activities. The instructor uses an enterprise version of Microsoft CoPilot for prompting exercises and sample output. Participants are encouraged to use an enterprise version of their preferred tool, if possible, and to review the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy of the selected AI tool before using in this course.
